Asitzgipfel-Sonnkogel

If you want to experience the mountain in a special way, take the Asitz or Steinberg cable car all the way to the top station and enter the hiking trail marked by an archway not far from there. Passing the first TONspur islands and the beautifully situated Asitz II reservoir with Kneipp basin, the trail leads to the first summit, the Großer Asitz at 1,912m. Continue your hike along the ridge, along another TONspur island with music from the TONspuren concert series, and you will reach to the Sonnkogel summit. Here you will find our Cinema of Nature that offers you a breath taking view. Wooden loungers, chairs, lounger nets and a viewing platform provide enough space for a well deserverd rest while enjoying a fabulous panorama. For those who want more can take the short climb to the Schabergkogel and Geierkogel summit cross or even extend the hike by following the High altitude hiking trail OST that leads to the Biberg in Saalfelden.

Parking is possible at the base station of the Asitzlift  (Hütten 39, 5771 Leogang) or at the base station of the Steinberg lift (Rain 132, 5771 Leogang).
